Friday 23/05/08 What small dfw things will you do today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Mornng everyone and hello to any new posters!:hello:
-Just tried to do piggy click but none today, will send out eBay packages shortly, and have a MS to do later, but will post more later on other DFW things!
You can all have one of these to start the day with as well. I know it's not Easter but it made me giggle:

I'm going to do our budget for this coming month today, and am planning on clearing out the freezer next week, so hopefully cheap grocery shop next week (must invest in freezer stckers, I'm getting tired of announcing to the family it's Mystery Meat Night). I'm also going to sort out a load of stuff and see if my best mate wants to do a carboot sale at some point, as we're STILL snowed in with general stuff. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
can anyone point me in the direction of a board about using store cupboard/ freezer food? is there one?:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

Yeah it's the Old Style Savings board - look down the main forums list. There's a thread called Store Cupboard challenge or something... or start one, if you can't see it and post what you have!Debt - Loan: £1150 C/C: £4763 @ 0%.0

hi all!
just a quick one...
I used a voucher from work last night to treat myself at abercrombie and fitch, i haven't been clothes shopping since my LBM in July:eek: !! So it felt a bit unfamiliar... but I soon got back in the swing of thingsand I feel like a little reward like that is going to keep me going... i asked for that voucher on purpose so i couldn't spend it on presents or anything because I always see so much in there that I love
.
Otherwise, today I have- transferred some money around
- updated my spreadsheet
- brought in lunch (but ate it too early and had to have a supplementary greggs pizza bread)
- i am staying in tonight, having store cupboard hotdogs from posh sausages in the freezer and half a bottle of £15 red that I rescued from a work wine tasting on Wednesday
with their permission.
- fallen out with a shopkeeper who thought £1.50 was a reasonable price for a 5" plain plastic plant pot and left empty handed (my colleague says he has loads so I am saving there!)
- pot some baby spinach for a friend - nice cheap gift for us to give when we stay overnight 2mw
- not spend anything else (keep away from greggs Claire!)

- Forgot to pay rent

- Sorted out DDs due on 1st june and transferred that amount to my savings account
- Washed 6 loads on 40 quickwash (30 is just not doing it for me
)
- Checked for mystery shops
- Got a lift into town and paid rent and bought birthday cards from cheap shop :T
- Cry because the heavens have just opened and I have 6 loads of washing to dry by tomorrow morning
- [STRIKE]Do PB CT and comps[/STRIKE]
- Order a PB voucher - when I can decide lol
