has anyone come across talk talks non direct debit admin fee of £5 and direct debit rejection charge of £3
i just started up with them and there appeared to be a problem with my direct debit with my bank which somehow got cancelled.
i rang them talktalk up and expalined to them and they said no problem just pay my first bill it using online banking from bank.
i paid over a week ago and in effect should have taken 4 days max to get to their account.
i now find out they have applied £8 charges to my account
theres no mention of these fees on their website

TalkTalk are a dreadful outfit, nothing surprises me with them. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

Is this really TalkTalk posting here? I don't like the idea of that unless -maybe- there's a very specific forum (ie "The TalkTalk Forum") which they could only post in, but they really aught to stick to their own business on their own forums. Not an independent site like MSE.0

Only a newb - but I have seen a number of posts like this - coming from the Company being discussed - and have assumed that those in charge at MSE know about them and presumably have approved the posts, and personally I feel if it leads to problems being resolved (if indeed it does - and for me that is the essential question) then it is potentially positive rather than negative.
There are number of us on the "Writers:Share" thread - where what is lacking is exactly this form of contact from the Company concerned .
Maybe I am wrong - but if this helps to get problems resolved (again I say - IF it does) then I see it as a good thing. If many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.

If someone isn't on this list, then don't let them have any personal details about any account you may have.0 -
Stephen Fell is an excellent ambassador acting on behalf of TalkTalk.
Late last year I had an exchange line problem which meant that for long periods we had no broadband service and at times no phone service. This was an appalling situation that ought to have been rectified long before it was by their regular service personnel. The problem in the end was that the pair of wires feeding the property from the telegraph pole in the street had corroded at the point of connection in the telegraph pole junction box and therefore service was interrupted frequently.
There is a distinct reticence on behalf of TalkTalk to despatch engineers. This I suspect may be because TT may have to make a payment to BT in order for BT to carry out any such investigation. Obviously TT seek to avoid this if they can. And of course if the problem lies with equipment on the customer side of the linebox, then the customer would be liable for a callout charge.
Stephen Fell intervened through my contacting him on this site. The fault was resolved without further delay and service has been excellent since.0 -
I cancelled my Direct Debit with Talk Talk in error when I was cancelling a number of old direct debits (pressed the wrong key) I was aware of it immeadiatly and phoned the bank who re-instated it. They said as it had been less than 24 hours there would be no problem. the next bill I had they had imposed a £3.50 charge. I phoned them and they refused to do anything about it, I even had to give them all my bank details again to set up a new direct debit. I also had to pay that months payment by cheque. I had not missed any payments due to my error I had only just paid the previous months bill so they never even had a refused payment request. I emailed them and complained and they phoned me, apologised and refunded the charge so don' give up complain again.0

Talk talk are certainly improving their image by responding on forums like this ,what a great idea I just wish that monolith BT would do it .It would certainly save hours of frustration trying to get someone at BT mubai to understand my problems in the past0
