  • Hi I just got back from France last week. Things are alot more expensive than other years we went for 12 days eat out once and had take away pitza once. I took equivilent to £750 and didn't come back with more than 10 euros. Hope this helps.

    Have a lovely holiday.

  • Thanks Roxie - I really did need a reality check and reminder not to be too extravagant straight away! The boys will pay for the water parks and train fare to Barcelona - we're not doing portaventura this year. I'm not used to having so much "disposable" spending money and it feels a bit like a lottery win - I really am very naive - lol!! Lunches will be very light (if at all) and we will eat in the hotel for breakfast and dinner. I have packed a bottle of ribena and will make up drinks for the day with that (is that very sad of me :( or very savy?) We will definately try and keep within a daily spend limit because we have to make those euros stretch for the whole 10 days. I did a similar thread last year and our total holiday spend then (self catering Wales), including food, fun and petrol was about £400

sorry - i totally missed that half board bit ! In that case you should be fine - it was food that took up most of our budget as well as the few days out.
You'll be fine - have a great time!!

  • Hi just a quick wrap up. We're back and had a brilliant time - the weather, place and people were all wonderful and we will definately be going again! The good new is that we took 800€ (approx £660) , did Marineland (great), Waterworld (great) and had loads of fun on the beach and in the pool and browsing round the shops! Brought home 100€ and that was without even trying - I am shocked but delighted.
