Am I the only one wondering why a woman would want a pole dancer cake?:confused:

It looks fab by the way, so does the night garden one!:T

My Mum is a professional caterer and also makes cakes (nothing like as good as yours but don't tell her I said that!:o ). She just has to keep her food hygine certificate upto date (does a course every couple of years) the only change she had to make to her kitchen was to install a very tiny hand washing basin. Why wouldyou need a seperate kitchen? As far as I can see you are doing less than my Mum does? (Oh God, this is where I learn she's got it wrong & is actually illegal & her insurance is invalid!!! )

Good luck, I certainly think you are good enough to charge professional prices;)

No she does not want the cake for herself, it's for her friend!!

Thanks for that information, I will look into this further. This is just what I found out on forums so it is not gospel. So no need to worry! ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidence everyone, you tend to e very critical of your own work!

I wish!! This one is at cost, the others are just presents.............this is my next battle, knowing how to price the things up:confused:

I was thinking of starting from home but from what I have read, you need a diff kitchen space to the one you use day to day at home? I thought Health and Safety would come out, pass my kitchen and I could go from there! I am waiting for appointment to come through for some advice on what I can do.

So hopefully soon, I will start making money:beer: Every cake is a practise atm and a picture for the album!

    I'm the same.
The woman who runs my local icing shop makes the sponge for her cakes a week before its needed.
I just can't bring myself to do it.

I just did a laptop cake for a new mummy friends Hubby. It was soooo stressfull.
I usually only do cake for family and very close friends so it does not really matter if they go a bit wrong. And boy did it go wrong. Was up untill 1am stressing and no coffee or pro plus for me as I am bfing.

A online cake making friend does the freezing thing too and swears by it. Not tried it yet myself.

It was my most stressfull cake to date and one I will not be repeating lol.

    Your cakes look fabby:T .
My baby girl loves itng so I will be doing something similar come dec for her first birthday.
Got her christening cake to do yet :rotfl:

Thanks, I use half royal icing to half flower paste to make modelling icing.

    .

Thanks! ... the reason i asked was, i bought some "pre made" stuff to make a nude male, but it was drying and cracking before i even had a chance to mold him :(
