Hello All
I was just wondering if anyone had done a free course via this site, and if so do they have any comments? Thanks

Hi i am currently doing 2 online courses through vision2learn (ww.vision2learn.com), although i have training in certain areas already i felt these were quite a good addition to my current experience.
They allocate you a college near to you and its all done online, with VERY regular feedback from your assigned tutor.Bbest bit is the courses are certificated through the NCFE.
Give it a go.
Regards

Thanks Boss. It sounds okay, I think I will go for it. I have nothing to lose anyway...

Go for it and good luck sam :-) depending on where you are they will sort it all out and allocate you a tutor at your nearest college.

I am not trying to do these courses down as I am on my second.
It is a case of IF they have college close to you to do this. Not all areas do have. My nearest college is 25 miles away but as me and husband are both doing the same course it should mean that we can go to sit the exam at the same time.
The only thing I found is that it did take 5 months to get my certificate.

Likewise, I've just waited 9 months to get a local college to admit they run the course I wanted, and sign me up. There were problems. However, I've got signed up now, and have started. So there's no looking back. Just go for it.[ Eat, Drink and be Merry - for tomorrow we get the bill ]0

hi all, i`ve had a double dissapointment in completing these courses, i did first steps in IT and next steps in IT with vision2learn, both with different colleges and onboth occasions after completing the courses was told my college had withdrawn from vision2learn so i could not take an exam, there for no certificate :-(
but i have been unlucky and hope you all have better luck that i had.

Why not phone your local college to see if they have a learner support fund.
I am sorry if this might be teaching you to suck eggs but I had not heard of it. I have enrolled on an Access to Further Education course (as I think I would like to go to university and do a degree in a couple of years - I am 30 with 2 young children).
I did some research and at two local colleges the cost was £450 + £150 exam fee x 2 (so £750 which I could not afford). Then I found another smaller college in a smaller town would grant me funding through their learning support fund.
Whilst talking to the tutor about the course she told me that anyone could apply to the fund for any course (but they might get knocked back) but if they could prove they genuinely couldn't afford to pay for the course they wished to do, but were earning too much to get benefits then they could qualify for help through this fund.
Hope this is helpful but that I don't get your hopes built up.April 2006 - £9790.26dr. DFD - March 20110
