Abroadtel deal with T-Mobile Monthlys - Does it work

Apologies first of all if I've missed an earlier post on this but have spent ages on searching the forums and can't find anything.

I'm off to Spain at the end of the month and would like confirmation from someone on a T-Mobile monthly contract that the deal Abroadtel claims to have with them actually comes through correct when you get your bill.

T-Mobile are unable to confirm that this company is working with them and that it is in fact correct that i'd be charged 10p per minute for calls whilst away.....

Many thanks

Manicdeb

I think you've misunderstood the product

Abroadtel is for making calls from the UK to abroad. The access numbers are only at those specified tariffs from UK landlines, not from any mobiles.

They don't make any claims at all to have any deal with T-mobile, or any roaming products at all, unless you've seen something new. There is no chance you'll be charged 10 pence a minute while roaming

Depending on your anticipated use, you might consider getting a Spanish or global roaming SIM card. See Martin's roaming article and its discussion thread for more

I've now been told we have a phone in the villa whichsolves my problems but would love to be able to call my boyfriend while he's in New Zeland using this method !

This link shows the connecting I'm talking about - I'd like to hear what you think of it - many thanks

That says that from the UK, you can use an 0871 access number for international calls from T-mobile at 10 pence a minute

It won't cost 10 pence a minute when called from your mobile in Spain.

When you're in the UK, but not from Spain, you might also look at the firm Yourcallworld, which you can use at rates from 3 pence a minute. Or you might set up an account with others using ordinary landline access numbers, such as 18185 or DialNow, but again, not while roaming.

You might get a Spanish SIM specialising in cheap int'l calls, such as Lebara or Happy Movil, or use a callthrough access number with favourite numbers or other options on the main networks, such as Vodafone Spain's 60 for 1 minutes

But from the landline would be cheaper; a few options are on this thread

why do i get a sneaky feeling that manicdeb works for these abroadtel characters!
    or am i a cynic?

queries seem a bit too ingenious and replies too self-fulfilling
