New phone, international texting, best deal?

Because my brother lives in Spain and texts are charged at about 20p a shot my monthly bill is usually around £40. Installed Vyke to reduce this but doesn't run, it seems because Orange block the site. So that's the end of me and Orange after 10 years.
Does anybody have any advice on the best deal around including texting abroad? I'm worried that if I go with another company they'll just do the same thing and block it.
My minutes usage is about 100-200 a month, texts around 100. I could do with a new phone, got the RAZR MAXX off the back of loving the V3 but it's rubbish.
