  • If you also want cover for a motorcycle go for AA. Having been with both my experience is that AA are far better trained and eqipped to deal with Motorcycle breakdown. AA also have some good discount deals with Airport parking that can save you approx 30% of this cost.

    The RAC screwed me properly. They sent a cowboy contractor to tow my car home, the contractor didn't have the correct lorry and dragged my car by its front wheels for 260 miles. The lorry was in crap condition and I had to hold my feet on the fusebox for the whole journey because the lights didn't work. When we finally got to my home, my car had been scratched up all down one side by the cable the contractor had used for the rear lights.

    The RAC couldn't have done less to help me.

    I had to persue the contractor's insurance company myself and had to waste hours getting quotes and arranging for respray of my car. In the end they wouldn't even give my the standard £50 for my time and effort. The RAC's response? "Not our problem".

    In short, I wouldn't touch the RAC with a barge pole.
