  • hi, thanks for your posts. i have been in the UK for almost 2 yrs. and not a permanent resident in the UK + not a EU member.
banks have given me lots of CCs but none of the stores did :(
What if I put some note in my ER file contained in Credit Report at Credit Agencies.
just saying that I live and work in the uk but not eligible to vote.
    what do you guys think?

    yes, you can.

    Egg,Virgin,MBNA Plat,Amex,goldfish,citibank,AIB. Plus a couple that I have shut.

I have never sent proof of ID for any.

I have been in the property for 7 years but I am not eligible to vote.

Same here, but I just choose not to be on the ER for personal reasons. I can vote if I want to.

You can also add Capital One, HSBC, HBOS, Nationwide, LTSB and Barclaycard to your list as I've got (had, in some cases) cards with them all and none required POID.

Opening back accounts with no previous history is no problem either if you're not on the ER but you are best applying in branch. If you've got poor or shaky history it's best not applying online.

ROB sorry if anything unclear here.
I have got a few of bank credit cards but so many declines in Store card applications , that's what i mean. I have posted the same thing twice and in both i mentioned that stores have not given me any credit cards. may be its because of the origins of the credit card. in some. one bank might be giving different store credit cards?
    anyway, thanks for replies.
    particularly to Captain Mainwaring!!!
