Bt Mobile What A Shambles
I had a contract with Bt mobile which ended on 13/9. I had previously phoned to enquire when i could cancel and was advised a few days before hand so I went ahead and got another deal with another network and cancelled on the 8th. Low and behold they try to offer me a new deal. Too late they could have done that the month before not after I have a new contract.
To cut things short I couldn't get a signal and new contract was cancelled I then tried to take out a new Bt mobile deal with the same company. After 4 days and 2 hours on hold to BT and being passed to various places about 5 times I discover that Bt won't give me a new contract for 14 days. The reason being my old contract has to be finished. They have a direct debit mandate to take money out of my bank but I can't have a new deal till final month bill is paid.
A bit unfair and a bit sneaky. They don't want anyone to take out a new Bt mobile deal with anyone else other than themselves. However they couldn't have given me as good a deal as I was getting. So I am stuffed. The company I had been dealing with told me that this happens a lot with BT. So I have had to cancel as I can't be without a phone for another 10 days or so
and have taken a deal out elsewhere with orange who have good coverage where I am in rural Scotland.
Why couldn't they have come clean on day one when the company tried to get them to connect me.They keep stalling them for 4 days till I finally try to get the truth. Just as well it was an o800 no. In all of the five people they blamed everyone but themselves till finally the Belfast call centre admitted the reason.
They say customers are given the opportunity to upgrade/renew before they cancel or as they cancel and that if they don't they must wait 14 days before they can have a new contract.
I have taken all my other products away from Bt and won't use them now if they were the last co on earth for the lies they told.
