I already work so this opportunity is literally a godsend.
To be honest I'm not at all surprised that he's taken this attitude.....I think part of the anger is because he thinks that I hid the debt from him, which as I've said I didn't because the statements were always on the worktop until they got paid but I'm cracking up under the strain of living with the jekyll and hyde character he's become....I've lost nearly a stone in weight over the last 4 weeks to give you some idea.
I really don't know if its worth the strain...especially as in my heart of hearts I really can't say whether we will get through this or whether he is simply biding his time.2014 Target;

I've done bar work - when ex husband decided not to pay any maintenance - and it's great fun.
Give hubby your little brown envelope with your wages in - so he can see what is going off the debts - and put your tips into your pocket. You have been given that as extra, because your customers want to, not because the boss has to, so use it to perk yourself up now & again
And if things do get so hard that you need a little bit of cash, even if its enough for a bottle of wine to drink on your own, you will have something put by.

Go and do the job, you need it for yourself just now, you are doing this to get out of debt.
Hugs to you, financial matters can bring huge strains on relationships and surely if your OH had any sense he would see you are trying to put things right.

tell him instead of bringing you down he should look at how he can increase the household income in joint effots, you are showing comitment is reducing the debt, maybe he needs to show the same comitment, even if he thinks this is your fault, your married and its a joint problem you both need to resolve it, if its just left to you he will not learn any lessons from it,
im sure he didnt say no to the items your debt bought
I understand the concepts of cooking and cleaning
........ I Just dont understand how they apply to me!0 -
Go and do the job, yeah £4 an hour might not be a right lot but its £4 an hour more than your getting right now and gives you the opportunity to have a laught and meet some new people. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Go for it.
I work two nights a week delivering pizza - after BR tax I only get about £80 in my pay packet, but make about £10-£15 a night in tips and delivery money.
Plus it means I'm not out at a weekend partying and spending.
The lads I work with are all great and I get free pizzas (which freeze very well for emergency tea at the end of the month when the cupboard is bare).
Maybe he's fretting about you being a sexy barmaid, getting chatted up by all the customers.
My fella still flaps about me wandering the streets late at night in my oh-so-alluring uniform.
Mmmm polo shirt and cargo pants, go on wit my bad self.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -
It's probably his own insecurities that you're gonna get chatted up and leared at by loads of men with big beer bellies. Or if you're really lucky, me!
It might well be minimum wage but it's by no means a crap job. Everyone I know who's done it says it's a really great sociable job.0 -
Go for it. I've just got in tonight from working in a pub. I got £4.80 tips too. Not loads but a welcome extra. I'm a trained teacher but I really enjoy bar work.
