Hi all. Thanks for all your comments.

No, we do not have any hamsters etc. What has happened though was that we discovered damp behind our wardrobes (caused by our neighbours building a garden bed over our damp course and covering airbricks :wall: - which has now been addressed) so wondering if this caused it? There were loads behind the wardrobes which have now been hoovered up - yuk, they are disgusting. I'm hoping that now the damp problem has been sorted, this will end it. They have not appeared in any other room.

There is information on the Indian Meal Moth here which sounds like your problem. They advise using pheremone traps to trap and kill the adults thereby removing the larvae.

I've found pheremone traps here for £14.10 for two that have enough pads to last at least six months.

We used to live in the countryside and had loads of framed certificates and pictures destroyed by corn flies that somehow got behind the glass and burrowed into the paper. Very, very frustrating so I sympathise.
