Don't know what they are - sorry, but 2 thoughts -1) have any of your neighbours got anything similar and 2) contact your local authority and see if they can help in any way.

Do you have hamsters or anything like that? I had hamsters downstairs and these things were on the walls and ceiling. Kept hoovering them up - hamster died and they mysteriously disappeared!

I think I had these at my old flat the tennants before were so dirty, They must lay eggs in the carpet cause I found loads in the carpet in the Bathroom (this was the room which took us 2 hours to clean after the last tennants so gross) They would crawl up the walls. When I first saw one on the wall I thought it was a rolled up sticker and then I saw this like maggot thing pop its head out, no one could tell me what they were and they didnt go away. Luckily I have moved now into a much cleaner place. Sorry have no advice for you tho.

Try sticking some in a jar and seeing what they turn into?

    Hi There.

I've had 2 hamsters now and I recgonise these little moth lavae.

I've found that these things usually start out in the hamster food mix. Must be from the warehouse that puts the food in the bag. I think the dry mix is a good habitat for them. I found the "Wagg" branded food to be especially guilty of these things. When I buy a bag of food mix I usually inspect and tip all the decent food into a storage container, and throw away the bag and any obvious signs of food harbouring any grey or furry coatings.

When opening the food bag have a look inside the top part of the bag, they can sometimes be found here as they make their way to the top.

    Make my skin crawl.. Yuck.
    "Excellent !!"
