my water bill is £47 per month and am thinking about getting a water meter fitted.
how much do they save you? as the only things used for water are shower, washing m/c(x1 a week), kitchen sink(not often)

can the meters be taken out if the property is to be sold?

would it affect a sale?
need to do better

This has been covered many times if you do a search on this section.

Savings depend on many factors, where you live, how many in house, how much water you use, type of house and of course how much water you use. Unless you are a large family you will probably pay less than £47 a month.

You can try it for 12 months and if it doesn't suit, you can change back to your previous tariff. However the meter stays in place for the next occupant.

Water companies can insist that a meter is fitted for all new occupants. Some companies enforce that regulation, some don't. So the sale question might not be a valid question

I bought a house over a year ago that had a water meter already installed. Previous owner who had two kids said she saved money.
We left meter in and our bills have never been over £50 for the quarter and thats with two adults and baby. I have washer on several times a week, use dishwasher every night, bath baby every night and use lots of water to make up formula and heat bottles etc

So I would say give it a go, I have saved a lot of money and you can always change back if your not happy
