Constant sneezing..

Pillows!
I used to have exactly the same problem and would sneeze 'til my nose bled.
I had feather pillows and changed them to hypo-allergenic ones and have been fine since!
Never sure if it was the dust in the pillows (despite being sprayed and hoovered regularly as I am VERY allergic to dust mite droppings) or the feathers.
If not then try changing your pillows anyway. It's obviously something that bothers you during the night so it may be a good place to start.

Thanks everyone.
Lots of ideas. I found a hand held steamer on special offer at tesco's- which i have ordered and the mattress covers seem ideal.0 -
You also wouldn't believe how much dust and mites the average duvet contains, so it's well worth taking your duvet and pillows to a laundrette to wash in one of the big machines. Even if you change the linen regularly, it won't halp much if the actual duvet if full of dust ( and I'm not trying to be cheeky either!).Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0

Thanks for the advice. My hand held steamer arrived and have been using it obsessively ( so far anyway). However, I keep getting distracted by the state of the tiles in the bathroom....
Anyway, I have never tried washing a duvet - are you sure i can do it at a launderette?
Thanks0 -
Yep, you can wash duvets in the launderette - they have the big machines that do it easily. Some places do a service wash for you too.
Alternatively, you can use the duvet covers with zips I mentioned earlier to save the journey!

It might also help if your bedroom is well ventilated. If you have central heating and double glazed windows, these can increase the humidity and make the dust mite problem worse.
Try keeping a window open, even on the coldest nights, to improve the ventilation.
If you haven't already bought it, I can recommend the Medibed mattress cover and pillow case cover. They need to be washed separately in a 60C machine wash with no detergent or fabric conditioner...........just water.
If you also vacuum the mattress, bedroom carpet (don't forget to do under the bed) and wash the curtains.......you'll help to keep the dust mites under control.

I forgot to ask what sort of headboard you have on your bed? If it is fabric, you'll need to steam clean it too. When we got the new bed, we went for a wood frame one with wooden headboard to solve that problem.

Headboard is wooden, luckily.
Off to wash the duvets this weekend!0 -
How are you getting on with your sneezing?Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]0

Thanks for the concern. The short answer is a lot better.
What we have done is:
1.Used a steam cleaner on all the mattresses in the flat and vacuumed using a dyson.
2.Steam cleaned the curtains that hang close to my side of the bed.
3.Got rid of a couple of old duvets and bought new ones
4. Got rid old some old pillows that are hardly used
5. Made sure we washed all covers at 60 degrees. I discovered most of the washing we do is at 40 degrees.
6. Keep the window open in the bedroom and the mattress exposed during the day.
Thanks for everyones advice. We just need to keep this up. Every couple of weeks would be ideal but no more than 4 weeks.0
