Please Help - Incorrect Bill??
Hello.
Can someone please advise me?
I've just been sent my monthly 02 bill. Normally it is £35 a month, but I was horrified this morning to see I've been charged £350!!! When calling them, apparently I was browsing on the net and downloaded a series of maps for the GPS. I know for a fact I didn't do that! I think I've used the browsing facility twice since I bought the phone nearly 12 months ago - could I have knocked my phone somehow - I keep it in my pocket all day. But, I am constantly checking it and texting, and so really I would have thought I would know if I was accidentally on the net and this never happened on the day in question. 02 have said to give them two weeks to investigate, but I'm really worried that I am going to end up trying to find the money to pay for this.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sam.

sorry to hear you're having billing troubles.
it is possible to accidentally browse & download (would entail buttons being pressed and once loaded buttons being pressed again - easy enough to imagine if the handset is wedge somewhere)
keypad lock usually helps avoid this. (if this is what is happening)
other possibilities include someone using your handset. (often a friend/child) [at night/when you're not paying attention to your handset etc...]
your handset should have a data counter on it (for your own info more than proof to o2 because you can reset the counter to 0 easily). If you check this and it is high, then chances are someone's been using your handset!
always a possibility of incorrect billing, so if you really think that's the case, then chase it up with them.
for info: what handset do you have? and tariff? (i was under the impression that o2 had a £1 browsing cap on all tariffs?)

Hi.
Thanks for your quick reply.
My phone is a Nokia N95, and my tarrif is Online 35 texter. When my phone is slid in the closed position, which it always is unless I'm texting, then the keypads are normally automatically locked.
From the time of day they are saying this happened, I would have been home with my parent (there are no kids in our house), and if my phone isn't in my pocket, it would have been on the arm of my chair!
