In all honesty that was setup a few years ago and, at that point, it wasn't real concern but it is due an overhaul soon.
The reason for the address is that some of the guys log the calls straight onto their systems to speed things up, the information just appears in front of them to deal with.
That said, the entire site can be used secure by using "https" rather than the default "http".

I can accept that it doesn't always work as it is after all a free service to the repairers and the public and we admin it for free and regulate it for free, not a soul is paid to do it. But, if you don't tell us when it goes wrong and who didn't respond then we can't do anything about it I'm afraid. We have removed repairers for that sort of thing.
On the other hand, the module handles over 14000 successful service calls a year with no problems. In fact, the services provided get more positive than negative feedback from people that use it.
