I can see a problem here with however you do this. If you keep it all in your name and someone reports you to HMRC you may have a difficult time explaining that the stuff is not yours. They may even stop benefits and such like until you prove you get no income..it would be the easeist scam in the world to claim you are merely selling for someone else so I think they would 'shoot first and ask questions later'.

Hmmm, well the issue here is that I am hoping to return to work within 6 months at the latest. During that time there will be no records as such as other than registering, nothing else would have happened in regard to tax etc

Obviously if you could prove you received no benefit by producing tax records showing that a full declaration has been made in your brothers name for all the income, then that would work, but if your brother is a bit ditsy will he do that or will he forget to register?

Already thought of that...was going to pin him down and make him do it at my place and not touch anything until done! :)

The other problem, and potentially just as serious is the not using ebay while suspended rule. If you change your ebay account to a busines sone and it is still in your name you will have to put up all the contact details on your 'about me' page so even casual browsers will have your details for complaints and such like. If you put your brothers details and anyone links him to his suspended account then your account will be lost as well. In fact if you use any of your brothers details that he previously registered under then your account will be suspended for good as well.

Yes that is why I wanted no association with him as such, took me ages to explain to equifax/experian etc that I have nothing to 'financialy' do with him! Numpty!

    Thanks :)

Seeing as he was banned for selling copied dvd`s before amongst other `numpty `offences , let me know the user name you use so i dont accidently buy anything from you(him)

Or lol...sorry i'm being annoying here!...

    keep ebay in my name

Set up another paypal address, but linked to my original one so all goes into same existing paypal account

on my personal listings use original payal addy

on his listing use new paypal addy

filter off the payments on his addy to his bank account

    hmmmm

Nope - any payments for his sales need to be going into a seperate paypal account registered in his name.

The point is...HE will not have anything to do with it and as a seller with 100% and thousands of sales I am not a risk, nor because of the way I am not letting him be 'involved' will not become one.

He was a numpty 6 years ago when he was 18 and thought he was ok selling back up copies as ebay was FULL of them then, he learnt his lesson as it all went to court and had fines bigger than his earnings etc. We were all young once!

Fair enough but in your initial post you said "My brother has found some great stock "

Now , you may be selling it but it`s his product so good as you no doubt are on ebay youre not selling `your` stuff

Yes he found the stock, which is fab and will pay for it and get it sent to me, then await any profit into his bank. He will not be touching ebay though.

Sorry, can you re phrase your second statement/question? Have tried a few times, but not sure what you mean!

    Ok

Your EBay `REP` Is superb you say , thats great , but presumbably you made it superb selling your own goods ?

This time your selling the numptys goods , ie they arent yours

So they are vouched for by the so called numpty , and not by the superb ebayer ie , you

Personally I wouldn't sell any items for other people, as close to them as I might be I don't think its worth the potential hassle.

I guess any problems that might arise will be dealt with wholly by you? ie items not delivered, items not as described.
How will your brother feel once he has the money that he might have to give some back to cover refunds? I'd advise you keep a "float" incase a chargeback is issued so that you can refund promptly.
Also with the new feedback rules now, its YOUR good name and record that's at stake, this could impact on you later when you want to sell your own things again.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

Checked them out, researched, all great and if I was in a position to sell and profit from myself, then I would go ahead
