Maglite prices slashed

If you like Maglite torches 7dayshop have slashed their prices across the range. Best buy that I can see is a 4 D cell with 3 Watt LED for £29.99 + £3.95 postage.

Closest price I can find elsewhere is £23.99 for the torch and then £19.99 for the LED upgrade.
If you like Maglite torches it might be worth a look.

Bit pricey for a torch though OP.
For moneysaving diehards there is a great wind up torch in Wilkinsons for 3.99. Have had one for a while and it gives out really bright light and the wind up lasts for under an hour each time.
A real bargain.
For hikers, holidaymakers and campers they do a slightly smaller version as well.Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

Not really, it's like comparing Aldi and Harrods and saying both are just food shops.
Maglites are not perfect and they are a bit more pricey than rivals but they work well and are built to last. They also have a lifetime warranty that does get honoured the switch went in mine (probqably as it spends it's life in the car boot as an emergency torch) and they repaired it for nothing even though it's 8+ years old.
Windups are OK, we have on in the house but maglites will outlast most other torches.0 -
I second the above comment.. you can't compare a cheap wind-up torch with a MagLite!
Sure both give out light, but which one will last longer, and give out more light, have a focused beam etc..0 -
And you know there's this thing about only being able to wallop burglars with things you would normally have about the house, not clubs or the like.
Well a copper once told me that having a maglite under the bed would be considered quite reasonable.0 -
Tesco do some good LED torches 3watt and 4watt both aluminium for around a tenner I think.0

It's also as you say a perfectly reasonably item to have in your house/car/shed handy for if you have a power cut or break down, it just so happens it's big/heavy enough to be useful as a defensive weapon if needed.
I'm sorely tempted by one of the smaller (3x AA) LED ones as I've got a couple of the 2x AA ones that have proven themselves invaluable in the past, much much better than any of the cheapy look alikes i've seen/used (I keep a single AAA one on my keys, a double AA in the cupboard next to the fuse box with some spare batteries and another in the shed).0 -
There is currently a MAG 4d copy in Aldi. Don't recall the price, but should be cheap. It looks awful though, and I doubt will last as long.
Remember that Maglites are guranteed for life and the UK distributer will replace any broken part FOC.
Upgrade the fitted bulb with a 3w LED and its an awsome tool - and both the beam and the steel body can hurt :rolleyes:0 -

Can anybody find it cheaper before I buy 1. I've had 4 Maglites and until the LED version came out I didn't think they were good value. Because of the twist to focus system I ended up breaking more bulbs than enough, but now, with the LED it's virtually indestructible.0 -
if u guys are looking for a cheaper alternative then i can highly recommend this one:

It can easily shine light to the other end of my 100ft garden... and still using the same AAA batteries for the last 5 months....0
