What about Dog Rocks? http://www.dogrocks.co.uk
I have heard good things from friends who have used these. Our female dog doesn't seem to cause a problem anyway so I have no direct personal experience of them.

I must say I am well impressed with the response my thread has got!! I thought everyone would think I was crazy!
I have started putting ketchup in her dinner which she seems to like. I give her sardines twice a month for her coat, but think I will change from the one in oil to the one in ketchup.
And I'll take a look at these dog rock things. My mum used to put some yellow rock thing in our first dog's water bowl when I was young. Might be a similar thing, I shall take a look.
(PS - They won't affect cats in any bad way, will they? My cat shares the water bowl).Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

My dog is male and his wee makes marks too. It also leaves bald patches. I don't mind so much at the moment because we live in rented but we are moving to a bought house with a beatiful garden next month and I want to avoid this. Is it normal for male's wee to do this too?
Also has anyone ever used one of those dog toilets which goes in the ground and has a solution to dissolve poo?0 -

I had one fitted, complete with a proper soakaway when my house was built. I can tell you it can't keep up with the poo from one German Shepherd - I filled it in after about a month!0 -
Also, don't even think about it if your soil is clay.0
