400 pounds seems a lot for groceries. Have a look on the OS board for meal plans, cheap but nutritious recipes. If you could half this for even one month you could pay off one of the Vanquis debts (have I read this right that one of them is 230 pounds?).

Looks like a job for Clariman.

I inputted the figures and fudged a guess at some of the minimum repayment rates. I get the same - last 3 columns are blank. if we guestimate 17% for these, which is lower than anything else you have...
It will take you 28 months to pay off these debts if you snowball correctly. During that time, you'll pay £4,774.00 in interest.

    £25.22 first payment to Vanquis
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011

    Hi there

It looks as if your mortgage loan amount is not a number (that is what the NaN stands for). When you re-do it, just check that you type in a proper number - no commas, no blanks ... just a number.

Also, if any of your loans are secured against your house, then the loan monthly repayment amount should be put in the monthly expenses table (directly below mortgage) and the loan amount should go in the secured debts table.

Also - make sure that you use the Format for MSE button (not Format for Print) and then copy and paste everything. That will format it all much more neatly for you when it is posted :)

try the drop a brand challenge as well. 2 packets of Jaffa cakes for a quid is a lot. I buy a lot of Tesco Value products and no one in our house has noticed the difference (I just took the biscuit out the packets and put them into the biscuit tin). Also look for the recipe for Twink's hobnobs on the OS board. They're fantastic and cheap to make.

many thanks for spending some time looking over..very much appreciated :kisses3: :D

because three were showing up as blanks i took them off. get 48 pds which isnt much of an increase...can take it off the shopping but i am more than sure we can get more in our wages as we always do....just went for a figure that we get if we dont get extra.

my main thought of the day is to properly budget. since we tend to spend a fair bit on takeaways *slaps hands* so thats stopping so we seem to be kind of off the tracks a bit. tax credits in tomorrow so that to sort out....need to go to bank to sort out the mondays palaver (tried to pay next bill via their site...came up failed x 4 inputs so phoned them up where the advisor says she could see four failed attempts so wasnt going to try a fifth...problem being the home address didnt match up to the card address or something so left it only to discover in the next 30 mins our current acc completely emptied because its prob the "failed attempts" did go through!!! closer look at online bank accounting discovered that home address wasnt correct...missed the first line of it! aggghh!!)

ta! prob might just drop them all together..healthy eating and all lol!!

made these hobnobs the other week....not sure if my scales are dodgy but i had to add more of the butter/syrup quantities because first attempt mixture was really dry so once i added more it seemed fine...kiddies and dh loved them!

Alot of these are very high interest so hopefully we can get these down asap. It's usually advise to pay the minimum on all but the highest interest debt, but sometimes it's possible to get a 0% offer as incentive to not close the card. This could help clear some of the debt quicker, but not sure which of these ones offer 0%. Might be worth starting a "Who got a 0% incentive to stay" thread. Then we might see which ones to pay off first.

    Hi debtmuncher

Firstly, do not cut up your credit cards. Stop using them but do not cut them up.

Secondly, you are paying car insurance but nothing for car tax. Cars have to be taxed and insured.

Your monthly SOA expenditures are what you pay for things annually divided by 12 and includes loans and credit card payments. You can do the same thing for benefits (annual divided by 12). For credit cards you put what the minimum payments are.

    Debt Section.
For loans, state how much the loan was for, the outstanding balance, how many months left and the APR.

For credit cards, state what the credit limit is, the outstanding debt and the APR. If you have cash withdrawals and purchasers on the same card, put the amount you have for each and the appropriate APR.

I need to see four totals on an SOA, income, expenditure, debts and assets.

For me the current SOA is a little confusing, can you delete it and redo it. Only put what your expenditures are. Do not put that you pay nothing for this and that.

Can you put a , after thousands (£10,000) and using dots as you have done, can you line up the decimal points as best you can.

Preview it before you post it, as they will move and then you have to readjust them. It is fiddly to do but it makes it a lot easier to see what is going on.
