dh usually gets an extra 100/150 in his wages from bonuses/overtime.

i could get an extra 100 if i take on extra shifts (evening shift/weekend shift worker)

any extras is pay as it comes so as you can see have not counted in the usual family stuff...really need to get budgeting (family of two adults four kids two being at school and two due to start next year and are currently at nursery)

car insurance was changed last week as the previous cost was 36 pds with direct line ..it had increased by 8pds so we shopped around. now with tescos

thinking of tescos house insurance but a post on mse about them kind of put me off so need to research more.

rarely make phonecalls so paying for line only basically with free evening calls or whatever . mobiles is for three...i have two one being a works contact only one so i can chuck it the drawer on my days off :rotfl: the other two are meant to be getting updated to those £15 free texts sim cards currently on the tenner sim cards which i think is fine but dh is keen for the 15 pd ones

currently doing soa....when it asks for annual interest rate i have two on the statements...purchase/cash do i put in the highest one or what do i do?
Hi Debtmuncher. The annual interest rate should be the rate that applies to most of your debt on that card, which in most situations would mean the purchase rate. However, don't worry too much about it. The interest rates aren't used in any calculations - they are just used so that people can see what kind of rates your current debt is at.

    thankyou all re interest rates.

i have done a snowball plan....really confused now because for current amount for debts i put 730 (rounded up from 724.85 which is the total of all the credit cards/stores etc...not included two loans and car) but its saying that first on the list would be vanquis first payment being £208.46 when monthly payment is £22 so how i am meant to be pay an increase of 186.46 when i have only got £5.15 towards extra funds!

I think you may need to look at that again. Do you have the minimum payment listed for each debt? Is the 730 being entered the amount to spend on your debts?

mini payments are up above in another post to the soa....730 is funds available for the debt repayments...actual figure is 724.85 so rounding up to 730 meaning an extra 5.15 towards debts

Nope - not following that at all. Do you have 20 items that get repaid each month?

    aqua............................10.02
    barclaycard....................89
    vanquis..........................22
    black horse....................236
    northern rock..................215
    black horse car................280
    littlewoods......................58
    next.............................77.66
    captial .........................50.93
    argos mastercard............45.31
    argos...........................13.38
    vanquis........................11
    barclaycard...................15
    kays...........................100
    littlewoods....................39
    next............................84
    argos..........................27.29
    homebase....................22.14

I make this 1455.85 per month.

minus the 731 which is for two black horse and northern rock loans. which would come to 724.85 then rounding up to 730.00.

i have only inputted the 17 items for credit/store/catalogue accs

OK - silly question perhaps, but who's paying for the 2 black horse and northern rock loans? Or is this going on a seperate budget?

Argos, barclaycard and kays - are these 0% APR or just not known?

got it half figured on as to what was wrong...the 0 percent (three of them) werent showing so the min payments for that were going to vanquis. i dont know the interest rates to them cant see on statement.

so having sorted that out i have inputted 14 items (not done the 3 loans nor kays a barclay and a argos master) so total of that is 566.85 rounding up makes it 570.00 yet vanquis still comes up as being double more or less at 48.46 so not sure where the extra money is coming from...need to hunt around!

leaving the loans just now...dont have the specific papers to hand to see the interest rates.
