Today i recieved my usual monthly t-mobile bill ........£30 higher than usual, alot was down to packet data?
I rang and queried this and was explained.
JUNGLE TELECOM had sent lots of of data to my phone.
It started last week and they got my mobile number of a comp i entered.
Each packet they sent i had no way of rejecting it just beeped on my phone and i presumed it was a t-mobile update as i have just upgraded to a nokia n95.
I have spoken to Jungle telecom who say I DIDNT untick a box which allows them not to send the info to me.
They have now begrudgingly took my number off their list.
T-mobile kindly after much persuassion credited my acct with the £30.
I cant remember what comp this madness started from, but i do know im very vigilant about what is ticked and not ticked.
Check your bills and be wary, you might not be as lucky as me to get your money back.

Thanks for this warning. I've only just started putting my mobile number on comps."Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0

And thats exactly why I don't put my mobile number on comps!
I use home number or 00000000000 etc, if I don't win a prize cos I don't have a phone number then so be it, its not if as they can't contact via email or home address
Glad you got it sorted tho toni0 -

That sucks, I am just glad you got your money back though. I usually put my home number down rather than my mobile, but have put it down on some comps lately so I just phoned my mobile phone provider just to check there were no nasty goings on - luckily there wasnt.
Thank you for the warning.

oh no thats really awful. Glad you got your money back though! That was lucky.
Ill definately be checking my bills a bit more closely as they always come in much higher but i just assume ive made to many calls or something.
I think its worth being more carefull all round though, i recieved a worm from a comp that i entered, have only just got my comp back to normal, so make sure you know whose comp you are entering and have your email scanner uptodate and switched on.0 -

Thanks for the warning a timely reminder to check those boxes. I assume that you will have received text message to which you are being charged. So as I have received no texts I shouldn't have anything to worry about - me hopes.
I think I will use my pay as you go phone in future - that should be safer.Winnings 2007 = £463 winnings 2008 = £30002009 prizes = Tinkerbell DVD, Lipstick, apertif dish, London day out, secret service xbox game.0 -

My phone beeped a few times over last week and it was packet data? it automatically went onto my phone i just thought it was tmobile with service stuff as i had a new upgrade phone, its only today when i asked why my bill was £30 higher they looked into at saw that jungle telecom had happily inundated my phone with data.#JusticeForGrenfell0
