Hi,
Does anyone know of a cheap way to call the UK from Thailand. My Mum's using the suggested numbers/suppliers for UK/Thai calls but wondered if there is anything that I can use this end. My best rate here (in Thailand to the UK) is approx. 7p a minute.
Cheers!

Do you have a Thai mobile? If so, one possibility is Jajah (http://www.jajah.com/). You can download the Jajah plugin to your mobile (http://www.jajah.com/products/mobile-plugin/) and activate the call via your mobile. You will have to pay the cost of a short data message or an international SMS message for the Jajah plugin to initiate the call, then Jajah will call you back and when you pick up it will connect the call to your Mum. It will be charged to your Jajah account at 2.7p/min, although if your Mum also signs up with Jajah the call will be free (within the fair usage policy).
If you have an internet connection available to initiate the call you could get free calls from any one of a number of Betamax providers. http://www.voipbusterpro.com/en/ is a good example. See http://backsla.sh/betamax for a good list of Betamax providers with rates.
You can then use the Phone-to-Phone feature (http://www.voipbusterpro.com/en/phone-to-phone.html) to start a call between your Thai mobile or landline and the UK. Provided you have purchased some credit and stay within the usage policy, the calls will be free.
The problem with the Betamax option is that it needs an Internet connection. I guess you probably don't have a connection available because if you did you would already be using Skype or whatever to make your calls...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
