I've also got a Goodmans GDB2 and although its nearly identical to the digilogic, I actually prefer the GDB2 as it doesn't batch up the remote commands. I have updated the firmware to version 4.1 though via the serial port, which also gives you the 7day epg. I do use it in the bedroom though so maybe not full on use really.

Sorry - I have been offline for a few days... It was Tesco in Borehamwood and they still had them yesterdayNow MORTGAGE FREE
Mortgage at start of MFW Journey... £203,000
Paid in full March 2011 - onto the next venture now which is 2nd home in a sunnier place0 -
I have the Tesco one. Quite good ... can accept weak signals as well. Only gripe is that the remote is not very responsive.
This is the 2nd freeview box I am unable to connect to the aerial socket of my old tv. Dunno what's wrong .. I tried an old Philips one and it was fine. Scart connection is fine0 -

Thats because the digilogic, and quite a few of the cheaper boxes, only have rf loopthrough which allows you to plug the aerial from this box into other devices e.g. your tv and video to receive standard analogue signals. To get one which will actually broadcast the freeview channel so you can tune your tv into it, in a similar way to your video recorder does, you need to get one with an rf modulator. The only drawback with this over using the scart is a slightly worse picture quality and mono sound.

Since I've saved so much cash kicking out ntl I'd rather buy the best Freeview box available rather than teh cheapest. Any thoughts? Ta0

I've got the Philips DTR1500. I thought expensive at £80 a good while ago but worth it (now on sale for just over £50). Lately though it's dreadful for freezing. Sometimes its off for an hour or more.

I see where you are coming from and agree with you to a certain degree however there doesn't seem to be a box without a bug or two.

I just bought a Freeview Durabrand PSTB1 today from Asda for £29.97.
Superb little box with EPG as well. Very impressed.0 -
Seems like the price will come even lower, now that the Gov has said it's switching off analogue! Means I'll have to buy 3 of them, on top of my sky box!I Believe in saving money!!!:T
