  • Before buying a Freeview receiver be sure to check that you can actually receive the signals and/or do not need an aerial upgrade. Many places that you thinkj should be able to receive the service cannot or ot coes from a different transmitter that requires a new and/or larger aerial.

Check http://www.freeview.co.uk/ to see if you can receive it etc.

Buy one :) and even better if they charge you more than that (because you'd get a refund).

Which part of the world is that? I'd get two at that price!

The Digilogic is actually one of the Vestel clones like some of the Goodmans, Matsui etc. It does have some annoying bugs though like delaying and batching up the remote commands sometimes. Also it does suffer from sound drop outs but not sure if thats due to interference or a real bug.

Had a Goodmans GDB2 and DEC 2000-t so far, both way too buggy.

Can anyone say whether the £27.99 Currys' Inverto IDL800T is bug-free?

I've had an inverto for a couple of days now. Not entirely bug free (it couldn't make sense of the two different transmitters I pick up here) but it does seem OK as a basic no frills box.

I have put it in place of my echostar (which I want to use elsewhere) and it unbelievably seems to get a better signal than the echostar did!

I've heard reports that they turn off at 3am every morning and that the remote can control other stuff, and other remotes control it (not on purpose!). The remote story looks like it might be true (my TV reacts to it, but it doesn't actually do anything) and I'll report back on the 3am thing in a couple of days.

I believe it's different to the endless vestel clones around (most Alba, Bush, Digilogic, Goodmans, Matsui, Pacific etc etc) but I am not yet 100% sure.
