Tesco - Freeview Set Top Box £29.97

In Tesco in Aylesbury yesterday they had a pile of Freeview set-top boxes reduced by a fiver to £29.97. I didn't recognise the brand but they had about 20 on the shelf, so this may be a wider offer than just in one store.
£30 for a Freeview box seemed pretty cheap to me - but I've got Sky so resisted the temptation.

This has a 7-day electronic programme guide, also the box has the DAB digital radio symbol on it - I always thought the Freeview radio stations were not the same as DAB, can anyone confirm?0
-
Yeah they're not the same - assume you are talking about the tesco one? There's only a couple freeview box that genuinely does dab - one of the matsui models and a goodmans.
I would have thought the dab people would be kicking Tesco about this but it seems they are not!!!0 -

Are you talking about the Digilogic box from Tesco? As that has the 7 day epg and the DAB symbol on the box. Alas if it is then it doesn't have DAB and you are correct in thinking the freeview radio stations are different. The Digilogic is actually one of the Vestel clones like some of the Goodmans, Matsui etc. It does have some annoying bugs though like delaying and batching up the remote commands sometimes. Also it does suffer from sound drop outs but not sure if thats due to interference or a real bug.
Cheers
