car insurance cancellation penalty

Does anyone know of a car insurer that allows you to cancel a policy at any time with no penalty, or smaller than a 1 month penalty?

some companies charge a flat fee, say £50 so i guess it depends how much you pay monthly?

If you are in a position whereby you know you will need to cancel midterm then maybe you would be better off looking at short term insurance?
