Won a holiday, true or a scam?

My old boss filled in a street survey and had a call a few days later to say he had won. He wouldn't accept it was timeshare because he's asked them outright at the time of the call and they'd said no
We were stopped by someone on our first trip abroad to Spain with scratch cards. Had absolutely no idea then (about 8 years ago) what it was about, but DH felt sorry for the young girl so we went along. After about an hour on a terrace with this 'nice' man (salesman) who wouldn't let us leave (set the kids up on a games consul so they were thrilled) I started to feel really ill. The guy got me some water but just kept talking until we realised I had blood seeping out from under me  . I have never been so relieved to be a woman in my life! Luckily men don't react well to any kind of women problems and he couldn't get us out there quick enough!0 -
I was approached by the club la costa people last year and offered the same deal, i had to go to one presentation meeting in Telford which took about 2 hours, then while i was in spain i had to attend one more meeting on the 4th day of my holiday just to go view some properties, was actually a nice way to spend the afternoon free buffet put on and no power salesmen.
Cost us £25 each to go but we had a great time.0 -
I am sure that it was with the best of intentions but you have done no-one a favour by giving a link to this concern's webpage.
Here's another link to give a more sensible and balanced view of this firm (and others like it.

I hope I haven't misled anybody. I think it's a 'free' holiday with a big catch - which is the hard sell. Everybody is entitled to make up their own mind and it's better to be informed and make an informed judgement whether to accept.0 -
It is a time share scam. I had the same phone call and the appointment they send you to is a 3 hour seminar about timeshares. I also discovered that I had not won a holiday - they told me i was only 'awarded' a holiday if i met their criterea... its definatly a scam.....0

Hi,
Some years back I was lured into such a presentation. The "free gift" promised for attending turned out to be worthless once I made it clear that I wasn't interested in what they were selling.0
