Won a holiday, true or a scam?

After some advice please.
I just got a phone call to say i've won a holiday after entering it online at myoffers.com on the 16th April. I enter so many comps i can't recall if i did enter or not. Anyway they gave me a reference number and then a phone number to ring.
Rang up, gave the reference number and they confirmed my details and that id won a holiday for 4 people for 7 nights and could choose from the locations (portugal, tennerief and another but i forgot the name). Its valid for 18mths and only fee is £29 reservation fee per person to confirm the holiday booking i want.
I need to go to London for it,like some kind of exhibition i think, its held on Fridays/Saturdays. But whatever day we wanna attend then that night they'll put us up in a hotel and include breakfast.
So have i really won a holiday, does this sound like a scam. I cant be excited yet, just incase its not true.
Forking out money to get to London and back is something i don't want to waste if this is a scam.

unfortunately it sounds like a scam, no genuine competition win would expect you to pay a pennyMoney doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful :beer:0

I would be very cautious. I've had similar things and I was asked to go to London too but I didn't as I thought there was something a bit fishy about it. Like poppyg says, you shouldn't have to expect to pay if you've won a competition and I doubt they will refund your travelling expenses to London either.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Thanks soooo much for the info. My OH mentioned timeshare (im from Australia, so had no idea what he was on about).
I rang them back and yes i would be expected to pay my way to and from London.
Thanks for also pointing out that no comp win would expect you to pay a penny as i never thought about it that way. I did get a bit carried away, as money is tight, we've never been on holiday together and it was soooo appealing.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
first you get the reservation fee then some sur tax then other "fees" also insurance you have to take ect ect and if its time share you get dragged around flats for hours and hours very little free timeIn London, you're never more than 20 feet away from someone telling you you're never more than 20 feet from a rat .0

And I would also suspect you would be expected to buy a timeshare whilst you were out there or upon your return. They would probably expect that in return for the "freebie" holiday. You don't get anything for nothing these days.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I had a phone call on the 19th May saying exactually the same, i did ask the bloke on the phone was it a time share.
Any genuine holiday win, would not expect you to pay a penny, there is no way their getting a penny out of me.:T0 -
If it goes quack and tastes good with orange sauce, it is a duck.
