    It's TIMESHARE!

Quite often, people in the street ask you to participate in 'holiday surveys'.
They ask a few questions, then take your phone number.

You get a call later telling you you've 'won' a holiday, which you can collect by attending a presentation.
The presentation is a very hard sell experience and lots of people find themselves paying money that they later regret.

They are always ringing me too. I just say I'm not interested and then they go away.
It's holiday ownership and they want you to have a credit card, be a couple or be married and attend a long meeting with them trying to get money out of you for a property abroad.

And having got you at London or holiday destination they can be more than pushy---downright menacing, some of them

I had a similar call a few weeks back. I was ill at the time so to take the easy way out I just wrote down the details rather than tell them to get lost. Then ignored as I guessed it was a scam. My OH googled the details they gave and came up with lots of people saying it was a scam / timeshare thingy.

Anyway, they called back to hassle me a couple of days later and, being fully recovered I told them we had googled them, discovered it was a scam and then gave them two words ending in off.

Guess what? Not heard from them since. :rotfl:

Unfortunatly as everyone says it is a timeshare / Holiday club thing.

Which for the right people could be a good idea ..

They get you to London, give you the HARD sell to the point where they stand in front of the doors  then after hours of trying to wear you down if you still say no they become quite rude

(sorry to say I used to be one of those "Free Holiday callers")

But technically you have won a free holiday (well the accomodation only) you have to pay for absolutly everything else (Flights, Tax, Fuel levy, Food, Insurance etc) and thats the expensive parts !

But if you have the money and dont mind when you go on holiday they can be a good idea (its just the way they go about it)

just as long as you know what its all about :D

Had the same offer from Club La Costa/Select Holidays.

I haven't bothered to attend the presentation you have to go to, to 'claim' the holiday but the website is here, if you want to make your own mind up. :)

The offer I had last week included the flights and taxes and there was just a supplement of £29.50 per person to pay. (Obviously food and insurance weren't included either.)

As I said, I decided not to bother with it as I couldn't face the hard-sell!

I am sure that it was with the best of intentions but you have done no-one a favour by giving a link to this concern's webpage.

Here's another link to give a more sensible and balanced view of this firm (and others like it.
