Questions re porting number
1. Can you have two contracts with the same provider at the same time?
2. When one of these contracts finish, can you port the number over to the other contract?
Is this a cunning way to make use of Cashback sites if you want to stay with the same provider and keep your number?
I realise that there may be a short time when I would be paying for both.
Is all this possible?

No you can't port a number in the same way as you can from network to network. All that will happen is that you current contract will change to the new contract.
