Is it mid or end terrace? When built? Boiler? Gas? Main drainage? Just a few points I look for on house details.
hey there. end terrace. was one big house and split in to three 100 years ago. built 1822. new boiler. calor gas in tank. shared drainage this has never been emptied and never has caused a problem. does this help?0 -
hey there thanks for your reply any comments are helpful! funny you should say about the windows i have been looking in to sash replacements to reinstate its cottaginess. i dont like them either. some landlord put them in without much thought for asethics clearly. bath is very accessible as bypass is half a mile away.[/quote]
You're welcome. I know where you are,
, as I live not far away. So have to go through Frome/use bypass to get to Bath. My comment stands
.
Yes, I think uPVC might have a place in something not 'period' but also in no house I ever live in. I know hey are easy to clean, easy to maintain and draught free (actually my mother has them and I get a cracking draught in her study  ) and generally super-duper but I jut hate hm with a passion.
again, compliments on a nicely presented home though and, again, good luck.0 -
It's very nice. Cottagey.
Why do you want to move so badly?
Have you had viewings? What else is in the area? What's sold?0 -
There doesn't appear to be a banister going up the stairs according to the photo? Just a thought but I just couldn't live with a flight of stairs without a banister as I am afraid of heights, also parents with young children might be put off with this as not very safe?
There doesn't appear to be a door on the ensuite bathroom? Again this is a necessary thing for me no matter who I live with.
hi ya thanks for this. no there is no banister but there is a door to the ensuite. the EA opened it for photo. would no banister stop you from viewing or would you perhaps think i like the look and we could sort anything like that out?0 -
Its a nice house but the problem as I see it is that you are competing with similar priced 3 beds in Bath itself. For exactly the same price I could show you a 3 bed mid terrace, within walking distance (albeit 30 minutes but I know people that do it daily) of Bath city centre, that backs onto open (protected) countryside and has a more conventional layout. Sure its a 1960's build, with no ensuite and nowhere near as pretty but for the same money most of the market will go for the city convenience - especially seeing what you've added about non mains gas and drainage although they aren't obvious and shouldn't stop viewings.
The perception was (maybe wrongly) that Frome was where you bought if you couldn't afford Bath itself, and you just put up with the 45 minute plus commute in rush hour hell. Whilst my heart may well fall in love with your house, my head would go with the other one everytime at the same price - you gotta drop the price.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
£15k off after a year and a half isn't a bargain, if it was priced right when it went on 18 months ago, it could be considered to be lagging behind the current market conditions.
I've seen loads with £15k off that have just been on since January. And some with £30k off that are half your price.0 -

My point was that the information would help in the details published, although the"gas in tank" raises the question. Private tank or communal/metered?This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
