    Please read my amended post #3 above for a clarification of the actual changes due on 1st August (now that Nationwide has produced a leaflet) The press clipping wrongly stated 'balances' to mean 'monthly credit'. There will one of 4 rates applicable for a whole month (whatever the balance - up to £3000) based on the total amount of monthly credits received..

    <£500 paid in : 0.10% pa
    £500 < £1000 paid in: 0.50% pa
    £1000 < £1500 paid in: 2.00% pa
    > £1500 paid in: 3.50% pa

    Thus, it is possible to 'earn 3.50% pa on £1 and up'
