Why on earth are you thanking that post (no 18 above).
Did you actually read it?
Reported.
Well I tried to report it, but the reporting software doesn't seem to work with my machine!
Call me thick but i'm confused-I read it and the tone was a little aggressive but have I missed something in there? Maybe it's just too late and my brain has ceased to function! I have had a bad day today!!Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!

I just think that threatening to drug and cut off the eyelashes of Natwaest staff is rather over the top.
And weird!0 -
Oops, I accidently clicked the button, soz.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

I'm with the Co-op. Never had any trouble. I've been with them about 20 years.
I phone up and they do what I want.
I log on and can see my account
I get free cashpoint withdrawals.
The card's never misbehaved.
But I've never been overdrawn. If my job finished, the first thing I did was cancel all DDs so I could manage what went out. Then reinstated them once I had my next job. So, in difficult times I take back control from my bank to me when I need to ... the rest of the time everything's on DD and hunky dorey.
It works for me and has worked as a system for 20 years.0 -

I opened a Halifax bank current account in 1997 and used it until 1999 when I opened a Nationwide account and transferred direct debits etc into that account, I thought I'd closed the Halifax one until two satuedays ago when I received a letter from a debt agency saying I owe the Halifax £68 pounds and unless I pay it I will be taken to court, The Halifax refuse to speak to me as it is in the hands of a debt agency, I gather it is accrued interest from a small overdrawn amount[about £2] I had on my account from 1999, I've had no correspondance from Halifax during this time, although I moved house in 2003, surely I should have had something I've not even had bank statements since 19990

i agree that not all banks are bad my main bank Lloyds TSB are great, ive had no problems at all with them,
ive had accounts with Natwest and Barclays and i just found them boring,
I opened an account with Barclays the same time when i opened one with Lloyds, and Barclays took twice as long and they sent me a letter telling me the detials of an savings account i had opened with them and the women had put the wrong stamp on it, and i had 2 pay to recieve the letter from the post office, i was shocked.
but i closed that account because i didnt use it,
im also with my local building society, Derbyshire, which are great too,
the only other problem ive had with a bank was with a account i opened with Nationwide.
im 17 by the way and i went in to open a basic account, with a cash card,
i went in to the derby branch and they called me over and looked over the accounts with me, and they told me to pop back into branch when ive got my details to open an account with and it will be all done and sorted.
whatever!
i went back a week later with my passport etc,
and they told me "you will need £100 to open a card account"
i said what? why?
they said if i wanted a debit card id have to have £100 in the account because im 17.
i said i just want a basic card account.
"o we dont do it in branch you have to fill this form out and send it off"
i said well why did i get told to come back into branch by you then and why didnt i get told all this information or given this form last week?
she apoligised and took my details they would have needed to show them in branch anyway.
when i got home i opened the pack, and right on the front page of this cash card form it says "you must be 18".
i was really angry now, and i rang them up about 3 times, saying all i want to do is open a basic cash card account with you, and they got confused about what i wanted, thinking i wanted a debit card when i didnt.
while im being charged to talk to them they offered to do it over the phone and ring me back and they still said i would need £100.
in the end i did it over the internet, my card came and ive got a basic Cash Card FlexAccountyayy...
so yeah thats my expierience with banks...
ive got three,
and a Halifax savings account but only just opened it and nothing bads happened...yet0 -
Maybe I'm a dreamer but I'd like my bank to treat me fairly.
For example, if I owed £8 on the bank issued credit card but paid the balance just one day late they'd add a £12 administration fee to my account. If they, and I'm now talking about you Lloyds TSB, make an error and have a shortfall of £8 in the current account interest they should have paid and take time to sort that out I'd expect them to be fair and add on £12 for my administration of the situation. Is that fair... or am I still dreaming?0
