Hi,

I am roughly 4 months into my 18mth Orange contract. Does anyone know how I can wriggle out of it?

I don't have insurance that covers me to quit the contract.????

I'm afraid there will be no way to wiggle out of the contract, if you are having trouble paying it then one option you can try is searching for a cheaper tarriff on another network that is the same as you are on now, call orange and say you wish to pay up the contract and leave, dont tell them its because you are struggling to pay it just tell them you have found a better deal and they may reduce your current deal to the one you have found. Sorry I cant help much more than that.

As it stands you are liable for the full 18mths of your contract. However, do you know anyone who is looking for a phone? What you can do is to get the contract changed into someone else's name. That isn't the same as having someone else added to your account as in that case you are still ultimately liable but if you have a friend who would like to take the contract on they will be credit checked and then from your next billing date the account would be your friends.
If that isn't an option the only other thing is that you will have to wait until you are half way into your contract before they will lower your tariff.

    :beer:A minor result:

On the phone to orange now, gave them a (sob) story as to my financial predicament, and they have changed the talk plan to the cheapest (saving 10p/m) and canceled my paper statements- saving 1.75 per month.

Thats £141 over the year! Just from 1 phonecall.

    Bargain! :j:money:
