Orange Student Tariff Deal

Hi,

Figured I'd ask this here rather than the student section (mods please move if i'm wrong).

Looking to try and get the best possible deal for a friend - she uses text more than mins (at least 100 / 200 texts per month, anywhere from 40 to 120 or so mins - xnet anytime) and is a part time student so while the standard 200 mins / 500 texts for £30 job would probably do the trick i'm just wondering if she can get away with the orange offer - same price, same mins but 1000 texts :)

The vodafone student deals are for anyone with a valid student / NUS card (and yes they have a similar tariff / offer but it's an 18mth contract and you have to choose a 3G phone from a limited selection) but the orange t's and c's state 'full time education'.

I reckon it would go through ok online as she has the relevant numbers etc but has anyone done it? Do they check? Do the NUS numbers indicate your status (part time / full time etc)?

Any other deals or offers out there better than free phone 200 mins 500 texts for £30pm? Not desperately interested in the cashback deals - she'd rather keep it simple than have to faff about sending stuff off etc.

(preferred phone at present would be k750i)

ta.

  • I am a bit too old to be texting (well, 20.) but I find texting pretty lame unless you texting a celebrity, then cause you never know what they up to, you gotz to text but other than that. No Texting Fo Me.

  • Hi

I think on the standard tarriffs you'll be hard pressed to get anything better.
I'm pretty sure you could do the Orange student offer, but you may need to provide a letter from the college to qualify (take it into a Orange shop).

The cashback tarriffs can be substantially cheaper, but only for the first year.
