Hi SSU :hello:
I haven't looked at Ebay for the dresses actually. But i do like the idea of same colour but different style of dresses. I have 5 adult bridesmaids all different sizes and hair colour! I thought about getting same style but different colours (not all of them are too enthused about wearing pink!), but I do like the idea of smae colour, different styles!! So much to think about!! I have told OH that I am paying for bridesmaids dresses, so have to be debt free by that time!!
We're getting married the week before you, on the 15th Aug!! Fingers crossed we'll get nice weather, but you can never be too sure in this country. What are you doing for your hen do. I gave my chief b/maid a list of what I did and didn't want to do, so she's organising it so it will be a surprise of sorts. I'm secretly hoping for a cheapy weekend in Spain, so fingers crossed :rotfl:

My sister and best friend are my two bridesmaids and i have told them that i want an action packed yet cheap and cheerful hen do. Some of my friends ones have been so expensive that i havent been able to go and i dont want mine to be like that. I want to do ice go carting or tank driving etc but it will have to be quite a bit before the wedding cos of bruises etc! I know what you mean about the weather we are just going to cross our fingers and hope, however if the worst come to the worst i have seen some amazing wedding photo's taken in the rain!
We are going to be serving lindauer Brut NV at our wedding it is £5.99 a bottle from majestic if you buy two or more and only £3.99 from majestic calais! I think it tastes fantastic and thought it was champagne when i first tried it. Might be worth thinking about?Debt at Highest £45,000  an extra £10,000 added for wedding in August 2009 but good news as of October 2010:
Down to 1 credit card - First Direct @ £7,000
Egg, Capital One, Barclaycard, Virgin, TESCO, Halifax One, Nationwide, Lombard Loan, Citibank, Mint, Natwest, and Marks and Spencer - ALL PAID OFF :j0 -
I like your hen do idea!! Sounds fun. But you def don't want any bruises before the wedding! I need to check wth my venue if we're allowed to bring our own drink. The package prices includes table wine and toast drinks, and there is a bar where guests can buy their own drinks. But if I can bring my own welcoming drinks, that would probably save me about £300 alone!!! If I can, will defo do a booze cruise.
Do you know where you are honeymooning??

I am so tired today. Went "Up North" for a wedding on Saturday, and left 7.30am Sunday morning to come back home. Spent Sunday catching up with housework, and then overslept this morning, so couldn't go to the gym
On a DFW front, we didn;t spend any money at the wedding - it was a free bar :T :T :T So rather a cheap weekend, which I'm very happy about.
On a diet front, I weighed myself this morning and lost another pound. So am now down to 12 stone 4 pounds  . My short term goal is to get down to just under 12 stone by the time I go on holiday, which is 2 weeks tomorrow :j . Then I shall keep going until I start wedding dress fittings which should be in September.
Have brought my packed lunch in today, and have spent my £5 for parking, so should be spending no more money today. I have joined the June £10 a day challenge, and am determined to make it work. I have 2 bin bags of clothes that I need to photograph and get up on Ebay. I should have done it last Thursday on half price listing day, but was too lazy

Ps having a really bad hair day today, which doesn't help0 -
Congratulations of 'setting the date' you can do a wedding on alot less than the 12k average quoted especially if you have creative friends.
I got my bridemaids dresses from debenhams in their end of season sale for £40 each. Flowers i got a lady on ebay to make silk arrangements (£40 including p&P) for mine 2 bridemaids and a flowergirls. Jewellery/tiara/hairpins I made myself. my dress was maggie sottero but once again it was a sale item so was a little over £300 with some alterations. Shoes I got from new look.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Thanks Lillac for the advice. I am no way near thinking of dresses and finishing touches yet. We've got the date, church and reception sorted and that's it!! On a positive note, we have saved the first part of our wedding fund and given the money to my parents to hold for safekeeping. Have told OH that we need to concentrate on DIY for the next few months, because I cannot live with this carpet and sofa another year
He's just gone to work and told me he'd think about it  . Must be fair tho, because he is covering the cost of the DIY whilst I'm paying my debts. Although, I'm the one actually doing all the DIY...plus all the cleaning, washing, cooking, shopping, dog walking...oh and working full time!!!
I'm feeling very lethargic this week. Overslept on Monday morning (never a good start to the week) so didn't go the gym before work. Just about had enough time to walk the dog, but not to wash my hair!! Went to the gym on Tuesday morning and did 28 minutes on the treadmill and had a heart rate of 177  According to the chart on the machine, a 30 year old should have a cardio heart rate of about 152!!! Have been working really hard and only left my office to go to the bathroom, and outside for my ciggie breaks! Am supposed to go the gym tomorrow but my gym buddy is not going and I just realised that I have left my gym bag in the car with my smelly gym clothes in there, so have nothing to wear anyway!! I will go on Friday, which means I will have to go running with doggie on Sunday to make up the third day. But weigh in day is Monday, so that should help
Need to load the dishwasher now before the Apprentice is on. Best show on the box.....ooohh, Big Brother starts tomorrow :j !!!!!!

I have been checking my online banking, and I know it sounds crazy, but I can't wait for my debts to go out this month!! The only ones that haven't left my account yet are Halifax CC and Student Loan! As soon as they're gone, I can update my signature :j
Managed to get down the gym this morning, albeit a little late. Felt really wobbly on the treadmill today so managed 20 minutes, which is better than nothing. Still had a heart rate of 177 at the end tho. I think that is probably a tad too high!! Monday is next weigh in day, so I am so hoping that I have lost 2 pounds. Colleague has just gone to Greggs and I could have murdered a pain au chocolat, but have resisted. As today is Friday, it's my treat day where I don't bring in a packed lunch to work, but instead I can have a cheese salad wrap from Subway. Mmmm!!!!
Looking forward to the weekend, but the only blip is having to go all the way to Milton Keynes on Saturday for a "Speed Awareness Workshop". That or 3 points on my license. Well, that'll teach me for going 36 mph in a 30mph zone
Here's to a sunny weekend

Should be able to update my signature with June's debts tomorrow. Can't wait!! Weekly weigh in, and had lost another pound!! The weight loss is slow, but getting there!! Total weight loss so far is 7 lbs!! I think it's the thought of wedding dress fittings that are spurring me on!!
On holiday next week, in an MSE kinda way. OH and I going to Portugal with my parents. They have rented a 2 bed apartment, so all we had to pay for was our flights. Flying out on a Tuesday and back on a Saturday so got a really good deal on the Easyjet flights. Cannot wait!!

Received my letter today from Capquest confirming that my account is closed as they have recieved my last payment :j. Just need to concentrate on my last DCA and Halifax Visa card. Phoned up to get my Halifax balance, and it says zero, but I know it's not zero. They've changed the account over to a Mastercard which I haven't received yet, so don't know the exact amount I owe. Grrr!! Am still going to update my signature tho, I think my outstanding balance on the card is around the £1650 mark.

Back from my MSE holiday and ready and raring to go!!!! Not sure where to start though!! Had a long chat last night with the bridesmaid who is organing my hen party. Apparently they're not going to tell me at all what we are doing. Which worries me. I like to know what's going on. All she said is that I need to give her names, email addresses of the girls I want to invite. I'm actually getting quite nervous now!!
There is a local wedding shop that has just opened up on my high street, so I'm going to make an appointment with them to start trying on wedding dresses. Now this is the part that I will enjoy!! I am still losing weight, but I need to decide on the style of dress.
Weighed myself today and was really nervous as I hadn't really been sticking to my diet that much on holiday. But, blow me down with a feather, I've lost another 2 llbs!!!! That brings my total to 9llbs lost since I started my diet 6 weeks ago. There is hope for me yet :j
