Going to subscribe to this thread as I may one day need a DFW wedding (if mr jamtart ever pulls his finger out
) !!
Sammy girl - have you tried One Poll, they are regular surveys, very good i have about £20 since the start of the year. Short sweet surveys!
As for Ciao, all it means when you get 'rejected' is that you are not the right demographics ie. you are 25 and they need more people over 40 answering or you live in the south west and they want people from scotland! its not a personal attack on your answersgood luck!!

Thanks jamtart
Believe me, it took Mr Sammy 6 years to pull his finger out:rotfl: !!!!!! I am loving planning our wedding, but have soooo much to do. I want to make it as DFW as possible, but we'll see!
Thaks for the advice re surveys. I think I will try One Poll, and I believe you can get money from YouGov surveys as well. I will try and explore these on the weekend. The Apprentice is on tonight, and I don'tr want any distractions from that, regardless of how MSE they are!!!!!!
Have a good day.

Hi Sammy:hello:
Just read your thread as I am getting married as well in November and our life is a mix of MS, DIY and Wedding. In fact I had a spat with my other half this morning as he is being difficult over his shoes lol!
Good luck with your diary. I have found mine a massive help and after my first two months have done way better than I ever thought I would.
Well done on the credit card payments - they must get so fed with me making about 5 payments a month drip feeding my ebay money onto it!!
We are getting married in St Lucia as I have always wanted to go away and get married and cant be doing with all the fuss and stress of a big day. My friend had it last year and she really suffered bless her! We have 10 people coming with us but because of the cost to them we have people who are really special to us.
My bridesmaids dresses came from Whistles but Monsoon or Coast might be worth a look as well as Bhs especially in the end of summer sale.
Best of luck

Hi Sammy,
Just a thought if you're local (London is fairly local to Kent) dependant on where you're ceremony is I may have details for you for someone pretty cheap for photos, send me a PM and we can chat more about it!
Congrats on the payrise etc. it all helps.
Great news on your credit card payments too! Try putting your credit card in the freezer, that way you have to wait for it to defrost by which time the desire has normally gone!:smileyhea NewYorkCityBride&Groom :smileyheaPositive things happen to positive peopleTotal Debt £25,317.59 (Apr '08)Total Current Debt £22,832.77 (July 6th '08)0 -
Hi Snafflepants :hello:
Thank yo for your kind words. Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. What bliss to be able to escape to a foreign country!! I am looking forward to our wedding at home though. Service in our parish church then reception locally. I just know it's a lot of planning!!
As I now have 5 bridesmaids (definitely no more) my mum keeps telling me that I should buy them "off the peg". But I do have the bridesmaids dresses I want in my mind, and I don't think I'll be able to get them "off the peg". I'm going to start my dress hunting in August/September and after that I will start looking at bridesmaids dresses I think!

Hi NYCB :hello:
I am going to pm you as I do not know where to start with photographers and most of the price lists I have are £2k upwards
Plus my wedding is going to be in Kent, so even better for your idea

It's Thursday and I cannot wait for the weekend! I have soooo much to do. As well as bucketfuls of DIY and gardening, I need to get down to the dog kennels to check them out with my dog for next weekend. My god I hope they have space available. Plus I have a ton of stuff that needs to go on ebay that's going to take forever to list. I keep meaning to do it after work but am always so tired!!
On a diet front, I did really well yesterday. No cheating whatsoever. I even turned my evening leisurely dog walk into a power walk around the park. And then was up at 05:45 this morning to have a 30 minute jog with said dog. Poor doggie is knackered. I bet he's fast asleep with his daddy at home right now. Lucky so and so's
I don't have much to report on the DFW front. I wish I did. I have OH money to pay into the joint account today so might ask the bank if I can have some money bags to sort all my loose change at home. Not sure if they give them out but no harm in trying I suppose.
Anyway, here's to 2 working days before the bank hol

I'm a great Martha Stewart fan and sometimes watch her wedding programme on the wedding channel. She has some lovely ideas and they are often cheap to do. She has a website that has a weddings part.

I've made things from other parts of her site and they work out well. Instructions are very clear and there is a forum where people comment which is useful.
Have a look, I think you will find ideas for everything from dresses to favours, from flowers to ring cushions.0 -
I'm really into Photography. One of my current goals is to make time to do a local-council funded Photography course. I can't believe the money that people ask for doing a wedding shoot.
Are there not any decent amateurs near you that would do it for considerably less? Do you know anyone at work (or play) who is into photography?
In this day and age of digital, I have found that many people only want a couple of "real" pictures and are happy to have the rest on CD and in Digital format. I took a pile of photographs at my Brothers wedding recently and need to spend a bit of time getting them ready, but I have a feeling that there is some money-making to be had out of wedding photography. I need to put together a portfolio now.
For my wedding (pre-digital), the Photographer dropped one of his cameras and about 1/3rd of the pictures never came out. He gave us a discount and a few freebies, but it wasn't the same. One of the beauties of digital is that not only do you see the finished article as soon as you've taken it (albeit only 3 inches or so) but it's very easy to back it up on-site. When I'm out in the field, I have a backup drive that I can quickly copy pictures onto. It takes seconds and I tend to do this every 15 minutes. The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.
