My benefit hasnt gone in!

There is nothing in the bank I was due to get it today (bank processes it early) but there is nothing there. The bank says there is no payment waiting in line either. This has happened before when there is an update to my benefits and my dla was just cntinued this week.

What can I do? This has happen at least 4 times in the past year and it is not good enough. They have no idea the impact this has on me. I have a baby to look after and nothing in thebank. If they giveme a giro it will have to go to the bank as it is over the allowed amount you can get in cash ad if they have sent me out a cheque it will take daaaays to clear never mind the fact my bank is 20 miles away!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iam already ill and this is making things just horrendously worse

when is the money actually due?
you said that the bank process it early.

Maybe the bank has stopped doing that now.

its due monday morning and the bank has said that there is no queue of payments to go in. The i.s/d.l.a payment has vanished from their system so it is not due (on their system) to go in at all. If the payment was waiting to go in on monday it would be on the banks system and it isnt

If your DLA is being renewed, were you being paid weekly? have they perhaps changed you to 4 weekly payments, I'm sure I've read about at least 2 other people who were changed to 4 weekly without warning on renewal.

I have had that before and then the money was in the bank on the day it was supposed to.

I'm sure it will be there on time.

my d.l.a is combined with my i.s and i get it fortnightly.

When you say your bank processes early, do you mean its due Monday? The bank i worked in could not see payments that were due in, but Mondays payments are available to view and withdraw on a Saturday. When payments are sent through on the BACS system (where the payment is paid direct to your bank from the payee) if they are sent past the cut off time from the releasing bank then they can arrive a day or two late in your account, it could be that the payment missed the cut off time and will not show until tuesday in your account. When payments paid direct to the account are late it is usually down to the payee not sending on time. HTH

If your payments have been going in early I can understand why you're used to collecting it on a saturday. But fact is no-one should be getting paid on a Saturday ... if you're unable to get by you can ring Social Services & ask them to contact the DWP "Out Of Hours" Service for you ... they might be able to tide you over until Monday, although any ££ they offer is a loan & (theoretically) repayable from your next benefit payment.

If you're money isn't in Monday obviously contact Jobcentre Plus to see what's gone wrong.

the question as to if your dla has just been renewed is quite important,after renewals now they dont pay it with I/S but seperately and monthly,although you can on request and with good reason have it paid weekly

well, there was no money today at all. I went to the jobcentre plus to be told to phone another number :rolleyes: so i used their phones :rotfl: and after half an hour on hold got through to a less than helpful person who went through my whole claim again for some unknown reason. She said there had been no change ( i knew that) and that there was no reason my money should not be there. She said I could get a counter payment then pressed the wrong button and issued a giro which will not come till tomorrow now.(hopefully) So I asked about the dla which is combined with my i.s and she said i would have to fone them as she didn know what has happened . I call dla and they said i.s had all the information that my payments were to be changed and paid direct from dla instead of a combined payment with i.s :rolleyes: dla were very helpful and said my payment will be in the bank within 7 days and i have also changed my payments to weekly as it is easier to keep track :rotfl: I went to the mp's office and they were appalled at the way i had been treated and asked me to put it all in writing so that they could investigate it properly :T I even had i.s say that they would refund me my bank charges if i sent them in a letter detailing the charges!!!
