Madasafish or Plusnet

I've cancelled my ntlfreedom dial up account which is due to be disconnected on 13th October. I am now torn between Plus net or Madasafish which work out as the same price (£14.99) with their 2 months free offer.
The Which? report did not include Madasafish in their list so don't know if they are any good. Does anyone have any experience of them please?
Thanks.

I have been with Force9 (Plus Nets sister company) for around 3 years now on broadband. Only ever had 2 or 3 downtimes (1 hour max) and they explain if they are going to have periods of downtime on their website or service status phone number. Very quick to reply to queries through their website.

Can't complain at all about them.

Have also used Madasafish for dial up a few years back (around 4 or 5) and seem to remember that they were ok - can't comment on them now though.

  • Thanks DJ. What is the difference between Force9 and Plus net. I've just checked out both and they appear to be the same.

None as far as I can tell. Just different brand names. They are both the same company. Obviously you will get a different email address - either force9.co.uk or plus.net I think.

I just signed up for plusnet after beeing mucked arround by ukonline for 4 months and was online within 3 working days :-)
    I think....
  • I'm with Madasafish, migrated in (which means that I'm paying the equivelent of £11.99 a month) and I'd recommend them - I've e-mailed their support department and I've always had quick responses from them (not like my old supplier). I've never had Plusnet so I can't give you my opinion on them - however they've been mentioned a lot lately on adsl.org.uk and it hasn't all been positive.

Madasafish are part of the Brightview group, which also own Freenetname.

I have previously used Freenetname dial-up and have recently migrated to their Broadband service.
No faults with either service or Customer Services, BOTH very good, and the latter seem to be quite knowledgable.

Check out the differences between Madasafish and Freenetname, i think you might get a bit more with Freenetname.
