Decorative Gravel for Driveway?

Options
Does anyone know of a quarry in central Scotland that supplies a "gold" gravel suitable for a driveway? All I can find are DIY suppliers that are charging £120 per tonne or more!

Any advice appreciated.

Gary

As a price guide, we paid around £40 per tonne for our golden gravel from a local quarry.

Thanks. Problem is that our local quarries only do red granite (Lanarkshire!).

    I'll try the Edinburgh number.

    That's a great price!

Do you mind if I ask if that's Central Scotland you got that from? Where exactly is Jacksons based?

I'm looking for some well priced gravel myself - around 16 tonnes - and, at that price, it may well fit the bill!

    Cheers in advance.

No it was in Jackson Building Centre, Chesterfield, Derbys. That was the list price, but they are not nationwide. I did not get charged for the bulk bags as I bought everything from there for my paving project. I only bought one tonne of gravel, so if you are buying that much you should be able to get a discount if you persistent. Also it is cheaper to have the load delivered loose rather than in bags.

B & Q and Wickes also sell in bulk bags, but it will cost a bit more, approx £40.
