I have experienced such case. One item arrived without my signature.0

I go through phases of buying things on ebay, usually they're sent recorded and I can't remember the last time I was asked to sign for something that has been sent recorded. Good job I'm honest, or a lot of ebay sellers would be out of pocket thanks to my post man.Sigless0

i always send items recorded delivery as there are more dishonest ebayers than posties, this said i always say my item is worth maximum £36 so if they lose it or its not delivered the i will claim the maximum amount possible.
luckily where i live our postie always asks me for a signature when i buy something and if its from ebay I will always ask delivery price for recorded delivery to cover both myself and the seller.0 -

The difference with recorded delivery vs non recorded though is that it is a very brazen (or thick) buyer who claims not to have received an item if they have already signed for it
(and they would lose a paypal claim which they would otherwise win)
I think though that the point being made is that in some areas recorded is delivered without any signature being colelcted. Therefore the selelr loses a paypal chargeback anyway.
I get papers through the post from work and despite huge cut backs in costs the system has now been upgraded from recorded delivery to special due to the amount of stuff arriving at various addresses and never showing as delivered. The in house auditors had a field day when they realised that for ages the powers that be had just accepted a certain amount of unsigned recorded packets as 'normal' and as long as the buyer had their papers didn't think it was a problem.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
