been looking at these as they only use 1W for each equivelant 20W 12V standard bulb, so the savings should add up for me with 14 odd bulbs at the moment
Wondered what experience people have with them if any ??
did you do a straight swap using your exisiting transformer or use the recommended replacement ones ??

Avoid if you intend using them for real lighting and not decorative lighting.
They cast a cold harsh and not very bright blue/white light.
The technology is almost there, but as yet, just not quite!A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -

I have used the GU10 ones (don't have any MR16 fittings in my house) and the best I have found (for efficiency and colour - they are not the cold/blue light of many "white" LEDs - nor yellow like most of the ones that claim to be "warm white") are at this site:

got the single bulb , does emit a white light rather than a yellow light but i don't think it's an issue as they only illuminate the area at the bottom of the stairs
I'll update with any other thoughts as I get them but the bulb never gets hot and is the same size as a standard bulbEx forum ambassador

I have gu10 installed in my bathroom. There's an upside and a downside to this. The two blue ones over the bath are fab and give a lovely blue sparkly effect to the water. The other 4 are, sadly, just not bright enough. I think I may have to revert to normal ones in these lamps :-(Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0

I have 3w GU10 bulbs in the en suite, walk in wardrobe, bathroom and downstairs cloakroom for 2 years now. The saving in electricity has been substantial and we quickly got used to the light. I did try them in the kitchen but they are hopeless there and I have put in 2 small table lamps containing biobulbs for dark winter evenings. They are wonderful bulbs (expensive though) and give off a lovely white light which prevents SAD and is also good on the eyes0

going to bite the bullet and bulk buy another 6 bulbs to change out the downstairs landing completely, it's the darkest part of the house so I should be able to see the difference if they are dimmer
also found low energy R63 ses bulbs for replacing my 4 downlighters in the kitchen from Megaman
and from these
