OMG HOW judgemental can you get !!!

maybe the OP has had the past 3 yrs as a SAHM ??? and is now going back to work

i agree that i dont like to see young children in day care from like 7am - 6pm :( and wouldnt do it myself personally BUT some people want to / have to

    who are we to judge

but saying they work to buy ready meals !!!!!! ?

maybe the OP like many working parents make up for things at the wkends ??? just because SOME parents choose to be SAHM/D doesnt make them any "better"

OP my son loves going to ASC :D and even asked to go when i wasnt working ! lol when he was in reception,as some of his friends were going and they said what fun they had there :)

Lillibet and Littletinker, your comments are very unhelpful considering you dont know the circumstances of myself or anyone else posting on this thread.

FYI, I currently work 30 hrs per week. My little boy attends nursery 2 days per week which he loves and is looked after either by my husband (who works 4 days on 4 days off) or my mum on the other days. When I have my second child I shall be returning to work on 20 hrs per week, however, my company will require me to work 2 lates per week and poss to start for 8.30 am on other days so I thought the breakfast club and after school club would be handy. I will be returning to work as we have a mortgage (small compared to most but still enough) and our house still needs a lot of work doing to it (not cosmetic but much needed work like new windows and a new bathroom). I will not be returning so that we can have a holiday abroad every year or designer clothes.

Would also like to add my auntie and uncle both work full time, have done since before they even had kids. My cousins are 12 and 8, both are the most happy well rounded kids I know.

Thanks. I just cannot believe some people would post things like that. This is not a debating forum, its somewhere to ask for advice. I have ready many things on here where I have raised an eyebrow but wouldnt dream of commenting as its none of my business

I think some of the comments are out of order! Aslong as a parent has a good attachment with their child then time at nursery school/after school clubs will help them develop their emotional-social skills. Yes long time day care 7-6pm can have a adverse affect on the child but otherwise I really don't see the problem. According to some researchers its the quality of time that matters not the amount!
