Breakfast and after school club

Hi,

My little boy is due to start school nursery in sept and then onto the reception sept 09. I was speaking to another mum from the school today who runs the local playgroup we go to. She was saying the school has handed out letters asking for interest in starting a breakfast and after school club - £4 per day for breakfast club and £6 per day for afterschool club run by whizkids. Just wondering how much other people pay?

Thanks
Louise

    I pay £1 for the breakfast club (0800 - 0845).
    After school club is £3.60 (1515 - 1645), then 50p for every 15 mins upto 17.30.

Our one is £3 for breakfast and £7 for afterschool, until 6. Tax credits can help with this though

Our school has two different ones - one is a before and after school club - not sure of the cost but it's quite expensive.

The other is one run by the school itself, and runs from 8.30 - 9.00 every school day. It's only 50p a day and you get toast and a drink. :T

It suits me perfectly, because I need to drop my son off about 20 minutes before school starts, but if I sent him to the 'proper' breakfast club, it would cost me a fortune. And apparently, they make much better toast than I do... :o

both my sons go to special schools, and breakfast club is free, and so is after school club, unless they go on trips, like the swimming baths etc, then i pay the going rate for the activity

Wouldn't it just be cheaper not to have children if you aren't going to spend any time with them?

I know I'm going to get flamed for this post but I'm saying it anyway!

I agree Lillibet. It seems to have gone from part time work, to full time work to working very early to working very late.

When do children see their parents?

An hour in a morning and a couple of hours in an evening?

It amazes me what people will do just so they can afford the material things in life and a ready meal weekly shop.
