3 lads - 1 flat - all students

goin back to uni soon and moving into a flat with 2 friends. Basically we NEED internet, and between downloading lots and playing games we are looking for a good uncapped broadband supplier, i think we would need at least 2mb to cope with, at the worst, all 3 of us online at the same time. we found an ntl,bt and a cable and wireless phone terminals in the flat so we should be alright for any of these, having used ntl at home weve decided on hooking up with BT which means we can get most broadband packages. so any advice on good deals would be useful
thanks

http://www.metronet.co.uk/ is good. The only caps are the cost and not the download qotas. Most of the other companies like Pipex, Plusnet, Ticalli etc have caps for data download.

i get away with 512k on 4 machines - so i guess 1mb could sort you out pretty much

as for a supplier - could try zazizam 1mb for £19.99 which includes the phone stuff - it is unlimited, and i do recommend it, unlimited 2mb is £29.99 with phone stuff also - but i think 1mb should do you fine
  • Tiscali is currently £17.99 a month for uncapped 2Mb. There's been some bad press about them, but I've been with them for years now with only a few hiccups.

    Isn't there a 3GB cap on Tiscali ? I don't reckon that'd be enough for three lads....

I would suggest Freedom2surf i guess. Ive been searching around as am with a netservices reseller (fast24) and their !!!!. Freedom2surf do an unlimited package for £24.99 and if your exchange can handle it they offer upto 8mb for that price. my exchange is only 2mb so i can only get 2mb. Im told they have a good ping for playing cs on uk servers so again ideal for gaming students.

    Hope This Helps
