Only problem- they usualy only get about 6/8 of big savings items in each store so you have to get there early. xx

ive found it can vary from 1 store to another, i used to work for aldi and 1 store i was at had alot of 1 item that was on special when another store i was at the following day only had a small amount delivered, it might depend on the location adn whether the store takes alot of takings each week

i went into the store in Ashington a few weeks back- the first time i had been in a Netto and found it to be quite dirty looking and fairly untidy. things just seemed put on shelves wherever there was space and not in any particular order.love aldi and lidl though.mind you i just love food shopping full stop lol

Our nearest one is 30 miles away which defeats the object of money saving when Tesco is far closer. Our nearest Aldi/Lidl is 10 miles away.

Until yesterday when I had decided to pop into a distant store on my travels, I was somewhat surprised by this and comments of a similar nature.

Good grief, I've seen better organised church hall rummage sales than the store I visited yesterday. As you say, goods stuffed on display wherever there appeared to be a space. As a consequence prices were difficult to establish with SELs often not reflecting the items in the vicinity. Thank goodness for the price scanner.
Also the store I was in had just a breakage resulting in some coca cola being spilt in the aisle. Rather than mopping up the spillage, the assistant used a roll of kitchen towel to clean up the floor the best as possible. Unfortunately this left a sticky residue, which I'm sure would look terrible once a few people had walked over it.
The 2 cashiers hurling abuse at each other (whether in jest or not) rather than giving their full attention to the needs of the growing queues at the tills didn't exactly inspire me either.

I'm clearly spoilt at my local Netto. There is nearly always at least 2 staff members either replenishing stock or just simply tidying the shelves and ensuring prices are correctly displayed. The only time they are not doing that is when they jump on the tills help the permanent cashier to relieve any queues that may build up there.

As a result, the store is always clean & tidy with most things easily located and prices identifiable. Smaller items which are consistently stocked are placed on shelves as well as any of the major supermarkets do. Yes, some of the more bulky items (e.g. toilet rolls, washing powder, etc) may be left on their delivery pallets but these are always neatly stored in their designated space by a wall. The twice weekly specials have their own specific location - great if you often just want to go in and buy these as you know where they'll be. Sometimes this area can get a little messy as customers scramble to grab them, or stock levels otherwise diminish but the staff do their very best to keep it tidy. As a result, only a very small display area of the store reserved for end of line (including the remainder of any unsold previous specials) is somewhat unorganised.

Clearly, stores can and do vary, but if you are lucky enough to have one with good, dedicated staff, Netto can be a great shop! :j

The nearest Netto to me, closed last year due to lack of custom. It seems our local chavs have some standards - they all preferred the Asda next door!

I love Netto (and Asda), I never mind waiting a while at the till because I am saving money compared to shopping at Sainsbury's and the Co-op (and at our local Co-op you are expected to pay to park!). Try some of the foodstuff syou don't recognise - it's fab. I love their little swedish pork rissole things (can't remember what they are called), and they often have prosciutto for an incredibly low price.

erm.. dunno.. never been in but the scrotes like it.. they brawl outside.. lovely.. it is shameful to be seen with one of their carrier bags if you are under the age of 70 (according to DD1) and children are bullied at school for such things..

Not nice Pigpen. Am one of those "scrotes" you make fun of because cant afford to shop anywhere else.

Think Pigpen meant the ones that brawl outside - kids and the like... we have them outside our lidls and aldis too - don't know what it is about the shops that attract them but they are a nightmare. I use both, so not putting down the store, just the little @rses who hang around outside...

We don't have a nettos tho, so can't comment on that.

Netto seems ok for the odd thing but I don't think they have sufficient lines for anyone to be able to do their complete 'weekly' shop.
