moscow - CL final plans

hi
me and my mate are travelling over to watch united in moscow for the CL final next week, and i was just wondering what the other united fans are planning to do when they get there
were going to try and visit the kremlin and red square, and then head to the ground and have a few drink in a bar near the ground
ive heard that uefa are organising fanzones for both sets of fans, but im not sure that i would be too interested in this, as it seems a ploy just to keep everyone together in one place.
ive been doing quite a lot of research and feel i am well prepared but would also like to hear from other fans, to see what they are planning on doing
cheers

I think you will find the Russians are planning to keep United and Chelski fans apart and you will be going into pens whether you like it or not.
You will not be allowed freedom to go to touristy places.
Not sure if you think UEFA 's fanzones are the same as what I have written.0 -

hi mate
were not on the organised trip with the club, were making our own way there
ive heard that all the FREE buses and coaches being laid on at the airport are hearding everyone into these zones, so were gonna avoid these and get the bus from the airport and the metro to the ground, ive looked into it all and it will cost about £5 max and take about 1.5 hrs

I don't think that you will and to be honest if you want to see the game at the stadium I wouldn't try - you could find that their jails do not have television!0

i cant imagine they can "cage" over 50,000 fans in these so called fanzones unless they are absolutely huge
i was under the impression the fanzones were optional
i understand the authorities not wanting hoardes of english football fans roaming the streets of moscow, but they must realise that when they agreed to stage the final that football fans would be visting moscow in their thousands and some would want to make there own way to the ground, and may even want to see some of the sights in moscow while they are there.
i think a lot that it being wrote and spoken is scaremongering and when we get there it wont be that bad
moscow need this final to be a success for their propsed olympic bid, and the last thing they want is reports of visitors to their city being treated badly

You don't appear to have much experience of Moscow, or I presume travelling abroad with football?
My ex has travelled all over the world with England, and jonesMUFCforever has described it to a tee. You will be told where you can go, and if you try to wander off the path, the likelihood is that you will be arrested.
S tended to travel by train, and the general idea is that as the train approaches, the platform is lined with policeman (sometimes armed, suppose it depends on the destination). As you step off the train, they move so that you only have one choice as to where to walk, and in some cases, you are quite literally put in cages to ensure there are no mad rushes of fans.
You have got a ticket, haven't you?Gone ... or have I?0 -

Well, they've only had 2 years to get this sorted. And next years final is in Rome, where every "away " fan gets slashed/stabbed. UEFA,what a joke.0

your right dmg24 i have never been to moscow before, but i have followed united abroad quite a few times, and in my expierences you are free to wander about
i understand what your saying about the russian and i know they have a hard reputation, so i could probably agree with you if there were a couple of thousand england fans going, but this is over 50,000 english fans, many of who will be there the day before and making there way to the ground from the hotel, how are the police going to know who is who
we will see what happens, but thanks for the warning
