Abbey C-Card. Anything I can do?

in Credit cards
Ahhh crumbs - It's a long story and i'll try to keep it short and too the point.
In July 2007 I moved address I went into a Abbey branch and gave them my new address details. In November I realised that I was not receiving statements (in hindsight i should have realised sooner but moving houses, areas and new job etc were on my mind). I rang them and they changed my address again and said it hadnt gone thro the system properly. They said that because I had refunds going on my card I hadnt any late fees or anything because they took that as payment.
I didn't recieve any statements again. I rang in January and asked why I am not receiving statements. Again they said they hadn't got my right address and would change it immediately. (Can you see a pattern?) No statements - I rang in Feb 2008 and was told that all this time I had be given wrong information and that you can not change your address over the phone you need to write a letter or go into a branch (the nearest branch is over 40 miles away). SO I write a letter and finally in March they change my address.
The problem now is that I have 3 missed payments on my credit file. I have written to Abbey about this but fear they won't change it despite it being their fault that I wasn't receiving statements.
We are selling our houses so we can buy one together and I fear that this has damaged my credit rating so much we won't be able to get a mortgage because of the low credit score.
Is there anything I can do?
Thanks for reading.

I dont think you will be able to do anything
Abbey will say there are other means to check your account balance and payment due, telephone internet etc.
I know the due date of my credit card, and if I wasnt getting statements I would call to see how much I owe, I appreciate it was a busy time for you, but if you knew you applying for a new mortgage it should have been of great importance to pay everything on time.Little Miss Sparkles :A

Thanks - I didn't hold much hope.
I did keep ringing them though and the automated service told me I didn't have anything to pay. A fault apparently.
I didn't know at the time I would be needing a new mortgage (since divorced and going to move in with new partner).
Still no harm in seeing what happens I guess.
thanks:rotfl:0 -
Three years ago I moved house, and told Abbey and asked them to update my address on my accounts, including the credit card. They made such a mess of it that in the end I decided the easiest way to get it right was to vote with my feet and leave.
I've since heard of several people having similar problems. There is something wrong with their systems, and they don't seem to be sorting it out.
I did get compensation (to the correct address) and some flowers (with a typo in my name...!)0 -

After my personal experience - what you say does not surprise me. I think with me the problem started around the same time they got took over by the Spanish company which if i remember correctly was in July 07 aswell.
What annoys me is that I was the one to keep ringing and I got told the same thing over and over again until eventually they decided that I was given the wrong information.:rotfl:0
